So this morning, I discovered some interactivity between getting things GNOME, my tasklist manager, and tomboy, my note taking application, that I was not thrilled with. Perhaps it was user error as I did not fully understand the way they were working together to start out.
Upon updating gtg, I selected the option to synchronize the tomboy notes with my tasklist. This resulted in a huge amount of tasks being added to the database. I was ok with this at first, but then this morning as I was looking to add new tasks to wrangle for today, they got lost in the long list of notes. So I deleted the tasks that were notes, which also deleted the notes in tomboy. No big deal, these notes didn't actually have anything in them, they were essentially place holders for notes that needed to be taken. (Please do not ask me to explain that.)
Since the tomboy synch has been turned off, I do not expect to have this problem again, but I have learned a valuable lesson about how deeply the interactions can be associated between these applications. Now, I am beginning to wonder what other applications can be deeply integrated into getting things GNOME?
